Cette sculpture, installée au pied de la Tour Mistral à Bischheim est une commande d’Alsace Habitat en partenariat avec l’Eurométropole de Strasbourg dans le cadre du dispositif Signature. Entamés en 2019, les travaux de recherche ont été récompensés et choisis par un jury composé de membre de la DRAC (Ministère de la Culture), de la Ville de Strasbourg (Département Arts visuels), de l’Eurométropole de Strasbourg, d’Alsace Habitat et de représentants de la scène artistique contemporaine de Strasbourg. Le projet a suivi ensuite une phase d’élaboration de janvier 2020 jusqu’à son achèvement et la pose de la sculpture le 6 décembre 2023. Visible depuis la route de Brumath elle se trouve au niveau de l’arrêt de bus Poincaré.
Ce travail explore le lien entre écriture et dessin, et en particulier la relation historique des lettres de l’alphabet latin à la figuration. Des éléments manuscrits curvilignes sont reproduits en tubes d’acier inox de 140mm de diamètre et forment un paysage de lettres. M.I.S. reproduit à l’échelle monumentale un geste manuel qui appartient normalement à l’intimité de l’écriture de correspondance et vient contraster les blocs minéraux de l’architecture environnante.
 La réalisation technique du projet a été menée par le forgeron métallier Geoffroy Weibel.

This sculpture, installed in front of the Mistral Tower in Bichheim city was commissioned by Alsace Habitat in partnership with the Eurométropole de Strasbourg as part of the Signature program. Begun in 2019, the research work was rewarded and chosen by a jury made up of members of the DRAC (Ministry of Culture), the City of Strasbourg (Visual Arts Department), the Eurométropole de Strasbourg (Presidency), Alsace Habitat (Presidency and Vice-Presidency) and contributors in Strasbourg’s contemporary art scene. The project then underwent a development phase from January 2020 through to completion, with the sculpture being installed on December 6, 2023. Visible from the Route de Brumath, it is located at the Poincaré bus stop.
This work explores the link between writing and drawing, and in particular the historical relationship between the letters of the Latin alphabet and figuration. Curvilinear handwritten elements are reproduced in 140mm-diameter stainless steel tubes, forming a landscape of letters. M.I.S. reproduces on a monumental scale a manual gesture that normally belongs to the intimacy of writing correspondence, and contrasts with the mineral blocks of the surrounding architecture.
